Covenant Park Bible Camp

Mahtowa, MN

Retreat begins at 6:00 pm on Friday and ends at 12:00 noon Sunday

Are you seeking clarity about a call to ministry?  Join us for the Exploring Call retreat, open to men and women, post high school and beyond.  This retreat offers a space to slow down, listen, pray, explore how God uniquely made you, and discern God's call to vocational ministry, whether in traditional ministry settings or non-traditional roles.

The NWC Exploring Call retreat is for those who sense a nudge from the Holy Spirit to pursue ministry.  This retreat will offer an opportunity to learn about how God calls people, process and debrief your own sense of call, and discern next steps, all within a small community of people who can walk alongside you.

New this year -- This is open to those who attended the Exploring Call retreat last year, you are welcome to attend Exploring Call 2.0! Learn alongside those who are experiencing this for the first time, and encounter some space to reflect on your own journey in the past year. The extended format allows for more relaxed personal reflection time and the camp setting allows for outdoor space.

This event is for staff, members and attendees of Northwest Conference churches that are part of the Evangelical Covenant Church.

THIS WE BELIEVE

We are a part of the Evangelical Covenant Church, and as such, will teach and minister in a way that affirms Covenant theology and practice.

In the Covenant, we hold six affirmations:  https://covchurch.org/resource/covenant-affirmations/

  1. The centrality of the word of God
  2. The necessity of the new birth
  3. A commitment to the whole mission of the Church
  4. The Church as a fellowship of believers
  5. A conscious dependence on the Holy Spirit
  6. The reality of freedom in Christ

The ECC is committed to moving forward in the area of racial righteousness and multiethnic ministry, and adheres to the six-fold test, found here: https://covchurch.org/resource/six-fold-test

The ECC supports the calling and gifting of all God’s people, recognizing that both women and men may serve in all roles in the church. The ECC has been ordaining women in pastoral ministry since 1976.  https://covchurch.org/resource/women-in-ministry/

The ECC’s position on human sexuality is celibacy in singleness, faithfulness in a heterosexual marriage. https://covchurch.org/resource/human-sexuality-guidelines/

The ECC recognizes both infant and believer baptism as sacraments. https://covchurch.org/resource/baptism-documents/
